Worthy has made significant contributions to diversity and multicultural education. He and two other colleagues designed the nationally and regionally recognized program, “Trading Places,” a diversity exchange and staff training program between the University of Delaware and historically black colleges and universities to combat racial insensitivity and bias in service provision. In addition, Worthy chaired the Diversity Awareness Committee for Pennsylvania College Personnel Association and served as the resource person on diversity related issues for colleges and universities in the state of Pennsylvania. Worthy also co-chaired the Diversity Awareness Committee for the Mid-Atlantic Region of Colleges and University Housing Officers and served as the resource person on diversity issues for 300 institutions in the Mid-Atlantic Region.
Often referred to as the “Diversity Contractor,” Worthy has traveled the US and Canada spreading the message of diversity and community to college and universities, school districts, corporations, government agencies, and non-profit organizations to increase awareness, understanding, and acceptance, thereby, creating opportunities to build cross-cultural relationships, brick by brick. |
